CITY ARTIST CORPS

​Valerie Deas received a City Artist Corps Grant in order to provide community workshops and be part of New York City’s creative resurgence.  She created a multi-event series, entitled Creating Art in the Time of Grief and Loss which consisted of quilting arts, mixed media, bookmaking, and intergenerational workshops.  Multiple venues such as Kreate Hub, Poe Park Visitor Center, Kingsbridge Community Heights, NYPL Belmont Branch, and Kingsbridge Riverdale Van Cortlandt Development Corp (KRVC) have allowed her to span various sections of the Bronx.
